Our Story

The UTPA is a non-profit organization that was formed to promote the conservation, cultivation, and
sustainable utilization of tropical plants in Uganda.

Over the years, the UTPA has grown in membership and scope, becoming a recognized authority in the field of tropical, Ornamental and Native plants. The organization has successfully carried out numerous projects, such as Organizing Two or more flower shows per year, promoting the establishment of community forests, conservation of rare and endangered plant species, and the training of farmers and Gardeners on sustainable agricultural practices. It’s members on the other hand have overseen some of the biggest landscaping projects in the country like Garden city, American Embassy, Pearl Marina homes,
Uganda Police Command center Naguru, Namugongo Amphitheatre Anglican Shrine However, as the UTPA has grown in stature and influence, so has its need for a more permanent and professional space. Currently, the UTPA operates from rented premises, which are not suitable for the various activities and projects that the organization undertakes.
